Hello! We’re Neha Marvania, Megan Decker, and Katie Papy-Naranjo—three moms with young children in the Clark school district. With more than 35 years of educational leadership and community engagement experience among us, we are invested in the Clark school system and are running for the Board of Education because we believe that all students deserve an equitable, excellent public education.
Our hands-on experience, hard-earned expertise, and track record of consensus-driven, meaningful change can help move our schools forward.
On November 4th, we hope we can count on your vote. But that’s only the beginning. We look forward to hearing from you. Tell us what’s working well and where you’re concerned. Together, we can work toward stronger Clark Public Schools.
Priorities
OUR MOST IMPORTANT WORK LIES AHEAD
-
Our strongest asset as a school district is our educators. We need to ensure we are attracting and retaining top talent by paying and providing benefits which are comparable to neighboring districts.
Actions we’ll take to invest in our teachers and students:
Explore innovative ways to recruit and retain teachers.
Allocate funding in the budget to ensure educators have the necessary compensation and benefits.
Prioritize the voices of teachers, support staff, administration, and the community in school board decisions.
-
While per student spending is similar in Clark and neighboring towns, our test averages show that there’s a gap in what we’re doing and the proficiency we want to see in all of our students.
To address state test scores and proficiency, we will:
Explore best practices on math and ELA curricula and how to bring those practices to the district.
Engage teachers and admin on how best to support student achievement.
Invest in SAT supports, resources and programs to prepare students for college admittance.
-
Our schools are great, but they can be even better! We have incredible students, teachers and leadership through Mr. Grande.
To support every student, we will:
Explore ways to partner with the community to expand programs for our students.
Prioritize the voices of students, families, and the community in school board decisions.
Partner with students and stakeholders to address any gaps in program offerings and resources.
