Meet the Candidates

Megan Decker

Megan Decker is a proud product of New Jersey’s public schools, a parent of a child in the Clark Township School District, and a passionate advocate for public education. She currently serves as an Assistant Dean and adjunct professor at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, where for the past ten years, she has supported undergraduate students through academic advising, career discernment, and community engagement.

Megan is a first-generation college student and lifelong learner–holding a BA from Fordham University and a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education. Her professional and academic journey reflects a deep commitment to student success, educational access, and inclusive leadership; she adds value in educational spaces with her perspectives as a parent, an educator, and an active community member.

A former Fulbright Scholar, Megan also worked at Columbia Business School and currently holds volunteer leadership roles with several local nonprofits dedicated to social justice and equity. She believes that supporting and valuing our educators is essential to student success and is committed to fostering a collaborative, respectful relationship between the district and its teachers, as well as to promoting meaningful community engagement with our public schools.

Megan lives in Clark, NJ with her husband, a law enforcement officer, and her young son.  She is running for the Clark Township Board of Education to help foster a strong, inclusive, and future-ready public school system for all students.
